The Global Maritime Technology Cooperation Centres Network Officially Launched

In December 2017, the Secretary General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) officially launched the global network of Maritime Technology Cooperation Centers as an important initiative to promote the implementation of technologies, practices and measures to mitigate climate change in maritime transport. This event was held during the realization of the General Assembly of the Member States of IMO in London, England.

XI International Forum and Fair on Maritime Security

The ISPS Forum was held in the City of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico in September 2017. The main purpose of this event was to examine the implementation of maritime, port security measures, as well as environmental concerns affecting the port industry. In its participation the MTCC-Latin America highlighted its objectives of helping reduce greenhouse emissions from ships and adopt efficient energy technologies and management practices on board. This would  contribute to the environmental solutions of the sector.

XXXIX Central American Isthmus Port Meeting (REPICA)

During the month of July 2017, MTCC-Latin America participated in the Central American Isthmus Port Meeting (REPICA), in the City of Belize. The objective of this event was to promote the exchange of ideas and experiences through the discussion of the port’s maritime problems in the region.

First Regional Workshop of MTCC-Caribbean

The MTCC-Latin America participated in the first regional seminar of its MTCC-Caribbean counterparts. The event took place in the city of Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, headquarters of the Center, and served to strengthen the bonds of cooperation with our Caribbean colleagues.
